Kashmir: Kashmir is set to get its first multiplex today
Srinagar, Sep 18: After 30 years of holding up, Kashmir’s to begin with multiplex will, at last, allow inhabitants to see motion pictures on a monster screen. Manoj Sinha, the Lieutenant Representative, is planning to introduce the Inox Multiplex in Srinagar on September 20.

Created in collaboration with leading theater chain INOX, the multiplex at Shivpora, close Badami Bagh Cantonment, comprises three motion picture theaters with an add up to a capacity of 520 seats. The premises will too have a food court pointed at advancing nearby food.
The planned opening of the multiplex, which is able to be worked by INOX, comes near on the heels of Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha introducing multipurpose cinema halls — one each within the twin Pulwama and Shopian districts.
The assembly hall has been given with the Dolby Atmos digital sound framework giving the viewers surround sound for the most excellent motion picture experience.
“For us, usually a huge dream which has come genuine. Tomorrow, LG Manoj Sinha will introduce the multiplex and normal appearance will begin from September 30,” Vikas Dhar, owner of the multiplex, said.
In Kashmir Valley, about a dozen standalone cinema halls were working till the late 1980s, but they were constrained to close within the early 1990s in the midst of the spread of terrorism.
