State of Siege Temple Attack Movie Review
State of Siege Temple Attack is a 1 hour 50 minutes movie based on the 24 September 2002 attack on Akshardham temple located in Gandhinagar Gujarat.
It is a fictional drama-based movie that is inspired by the true events of 2002.
19 years ago in Ahmedabad, the whole country witnessed a terrorist attack on the Akshardham temple. 2 armed men attacked and killed approx 30 people and more than 80 people. Next, the National Security Guards entered and killed both the attackers. The attack has followed the Gothra riots but obviously, the writers have only focused on the role of NSG (National Security Guard), who entered the temple to save the hostages and killed the terrorists.
The movie is written by William Borthwick and Simon Fantauzzo, directed by Ken Ghosh starring Akashey Khanna in the lead role.
Although movies are inspired by the true event it’s Bollywood what we can expect from them, they literally tried to go beyond reality and put emotional and grand scenes just to make it entertaining, and this is one of the flaws of the movies that just literally kill the narrative. The writer doesn’t even think how heartbreaking the moment was for the family of people who got killed in that attack. They were locked for 14 hours by armed men and got killed in a worship place. This was not at all spicy content for the viewers watching dying in a temple.
In the movie, one of the gang members named Bilal Naikoo attacked the temple named Krishna Dham Mandir (Akshardham temple). The terrorists started assaulting the temple according to their plan and this was monitoring from Pakistan who was killing many innocent people and holding some of the hostages back and how the National Security Guard (NSG) seized the situation with Ahmedabad police.
In the opening scene, we will find Haunat Singh is leading a mission in Jammu and Kashmir, which is a complete failure and this gives him a purpose to explain and prove himself. On the other hand, we will see a commando named Gautam Rode who is a happily married man and currently waiting for the birth of his first child and he got torn between his national duty and his family, his wife who is in hospital.
The only thing I found worthy in the movie was Akshaye Khanna, his charm, his patriotic acting (action) will make you stick to the end of the movie. His character was memorable as he played it wonderfully(heroic). He literally shines in the movie. He is one of the remarkable actors our Bollywood industry has so far.
The movie was quite predictable because it was based on a true event and it’s Bollywood you know it. Thinking of watching the movie you can, it’s a one-time watch movie.
The film is for everyone who loves to see armed and brave men fighting to protect our nation and they have this other love and respect for the nation’s soldiers.
Must watch the movie.
