Why We should Celebrate PAPER BAG DAY

Paper Bag Day is celebrated on the 12th of July every year to make people aware of the pollution created by plastic and how it is dangerous to our natural environment. 

Plastic takes more than thousands of years to decompose, can you even imagine a thousand years?

Switching to paper bags is the best gift every individual can give to the natural environment. Paper bags are environmentally friendly bags. More than thousands of people have already switched to paper bags because they are reusable and in addition recyclable. 

In 1852 an American inventor named Francis Wolle was credited for his patent of a primary paper machine. In 1870 Margaret E Knight designed the sq. Flat bottomed bag and machine that will fold and paste the bag and named it The Mom of Grocery Bag. After this, there was a demonstration all around the world demanding a ban on plastic. 

Although the paper bags were commercially manufactured in the year 1844 in Bristol, England.  

You know paper bags are 100% recyclable and take approx. take 1 month to get decomposed. Paper bags are not only good for the environment but also for different stray and pet animals. 

Paper bags are made of biodegradable and renewable components.  

We can use and reuse paper bags even in a very creative way. It can be used for arts and crafts, wrapping gifts, wrapping fruits and vegetables, covering utensils and in many other ways you find it useful. 

As compared to plastic bags paper bags use less energy to manufacture, and they are easier to handle and store.  

The paper day aims to make people switch from plastic bags to paper bags and how plastic bags are destroying our nature.

Although many people nowadays are aware and have already started using paper bags because they know paper helps in restraining environmental pollution. 

Without any doubt using paper bags is one of the important foundations to preserve our planet for future generations.

Another fact is, you know paper bags are made up of wood and this is the reason they can be easily recycled and can convert into newspapers like newspapers, books, and magazines. 

The only disadvantage of using paper comes when we carry freezing food or heavy things, they are not good with it.

Using paper bags is very good for our environment and for saving them but it doesn’t mean we can waste them or overuse them. 

 In India, paper bag day is celebrated on the 12th of July but in many other countries, this day is celebrated on different days.
