The king of Bollywood, one of the legendary actors of all time Dilip Kumar died this morning at the age of 98, what devastating news.
He was taken to Hinduja Hospital last Wednesday when he complained of getting a breathing problem and died at 7:30 AM this morning due to a Prolonged illness.
Dilip Kumar has suffered from prostate cancer which had spread to his other organs of the body and he had water in his pleural cavity and he also suffered from Kidney failure. He has gone through multiple blood transfusions and this time carried the last transfusion but it was not successful, it didn’t help, said a hospital doctor.
A tweet was posted at 08:01 AM this morning from his official account by his family friend name Faisal Farooqi “With a heavy heart and profound grief, I announce the passing away of our beloved Dilip Saab, a few minutes ago.
We are from God and to Him, we return. – Faisal Farooqui”
His original name was Mohammed Yusuf Khan and born in 1922 in Peshawar and he joined Bollywood in 1940 with the name Dilip Kumar.
He was the Tragedy King of Bollywood. He has given Bollywood one of the most classic movies that traverse over six decades. He was the first and one of the best method actors in India.
He made his debut in 1944 in Jwar Bhata but the film was not a success and he also didn’t get much attention. In 1947 he got his first box office hit, a movie name Jugnu starring Noor Jahan and in 1949 he shared the screen with actors Raj Kapoor and Nargis which made him a superstar.
Dilip Kumar was the first actor, who won the Filmfare award for best actor in 1954 and he won it a total of 8 times. And still, now he and Sharukh Khan are the only actors who have a record of winning a number of trophies.
He was last seen in the movie Qila in 1998.
Dilip Kumar is the only Indian actor who has listed his name in Gunnies Book of World Record for winning the maximum number of awards. He was also honored by Dadasaheb Phalke Award in 1994 and Padma Vibhushan Award in 2015.
His Death was a demise, everyone who knows him as a person or actor is downhearted by his death.
Dilip Kumar’s funeral will take place today at 5 PM at Juhu Qabrastan at Santacruz Mumbai and it was also posted on Twitter by his official Handel at 09:41 AM
