MBBS Student Hanged herself

Last year MBBS understudy of Delhi’s Safdarjung Clinic was found hanging interior her inn room on Thursday morning. The police also recovered two packets of depression medicines from her room as she was in depression.

DELHI POLICE STATEMENT

Delhi Police said, “We received a call at 3.30 am that a final year MBBS student committed suicide by hanging herself in her room at MBBS Girls Hostel, Safdarjung hospital. She was declared dead after she was taken to hospital,” as reported by Times Now.

The girl had closed the room from the inside which was later forcefully opened by her friends. After the police got a call, an investigative officer reached the spot and found the student hanging in her hostel room using a dupatta. 

The student was then immediately rushed to the emergency ward of the Safdarjung Hospital where she was declared dead. As per reports, a purported handwritten suicide note was found in the diary of the deceased.

The victim’s family has come to the hospital and explanations from her friends were also recorded by the police. The thought process of the suicide remains unclear.

The understudy was doing an internship at the healing center since April 2022.

Dr. Datta (AIIMS Delhi) tweeted about this incident. The tweet reads, “Another doctor takes her life in a top college in the country! An intern at VMMC (Safdurjung), Delhi hanged herself in her room yesterday night! I believe it’s high time we all sit and figure out what’s wrong in our system and more importantly how to prevent this in the future!”
