“Your hair always looks gorgeous no matter what your hair type is”
No matter how our hair type is, It is beautiful, we just need to know how to carry it properly. Our hair type depends upon our hair curl pattern and is determined by our genetics. Hair types are classified into four categories straight, curly, wavy and coily hair; however, they can be individually categorized as fine, thick, glossy, matte, short. However, due to advancement in technology, we can change our hair pattern. The thing that makes different hair types so different is the texture of our hair.
Hair Types
TYPE A:- STRAIGHT HAIR
Hair types that are straight from the roots but can be wavy from the bottom are in general called straight hair. They can be fine or coarse, thick or thin, brown or black from root to tip. Straight hair types are easy to manage, unlike curly and wavy hair. Straight hair gives a shiny and finished look to the hair which can be styled beautifully and easily according to different occasions.
PROBLEM AND SOLUTION
The scalp already produces a lot of oil, that is why stylists advise them to avoid oiling the hair too much. Washing hair frequently can cause the scalp to produce too much oil, so it is important to use dry shampoo so that the scalp does not always become oily and the hair does not look dirty due to it. Another big problem seen in straight hairs is split ends but this problem can be easily solved by regularly applying hair masks, taking regular trims, etc.
TYPE B :- WAVY HAIR
Wavy hair types are a defined part that is somewhere between straight and curly hair. Wavy hair types are of 3 types- 2A, 2B and 2C. The one which is 2A is the gentlest one and the one which is 2C is the most extreme one. It is very important that we must use good products that can make our waves look good and can manage the frizz well so that our hair looks absolutely beautiful.
PROBLEM AND SOLUTION
Our waves can sometimes look undefined due to various weather conditions; hence we need to use the right moisturizing shampoos or conditioners that are made just for wavy hair to get defined waves. Wavy hair can sometimes have a very uneven volume distribution which makes it difficult to achieve a balanced look. To correct this, we should do haircuts that complement wavy hair and help us achieve a balanced look.
TYPE C :- COILY HAIR
Coily hair type has extremely tight curls which are basically in the shape of a Z or O and have sharp angles. Again, the texture of coily hairs can be categorized into different types for example it can be soft, fine or densely packed. Coily hairs are naturally driest among all the hair types as all the natural oil present in the scalp cannot travel due to their Sharp angles.
PROBLEM AND SOLUTION
The tight curls of coily hair sometimes create knots in the hair due to which the hair either breaks or creates difficulty in styling. Therefore, you should detangle the hair gently either with a wide comb or with your fingers. So, to avoid this problem specialists recommend not to skip hair conditioner during the hair washing process.
TYPE D :- CURLY HAIR
Curly hairs are the hairs that grow naturally in the shape of a loop. The more curlier your hair is, the more S-shaped pattern will be formed. Curly hair is very frizzy because of its texture and its tendency to dry out quickly. The curls of the hair can be loose or tight.
PROBLEM AND SOLUTION
It is important to use sulfate-free shampoo and conditioner to keep the hair hydrated as the natural texture of this hair type is very dry. One should avoid using heat or fancy products as it greatly increases the chances of hair getting dry and dull. We should detangle our hair with a wide comb or fingers so that knots do not form in the hair which damages the hair. We should use either a silk pillowcase or wrap the hair in a silk scarf so that the curls remain defined while sleeping.
In today’s world, with many techniques i.e. SMOOTHENING, PERMS, etc we can change our hair pattern.
SMOOTHENING TREATMENT
Smoothening is a chemical treatment that helps in straightening dull, fizzy, curly hair. Smoothening involves many treatments such as keratin treatment, rebonding etc.
- KERATIN TREATMENT
Keratin treatment is a temporary hair treatment method done to get straight hair. This treatment can convert dull, fizzy, damaged hairs into smooth, shiny, sleek hairs.
- REBONDING TREATMENT
Rebonding treatment is the chemical process that processes the texture of hairs and makes the hairs look straight until new hair grows.
PERM TREATMENT
Perm is a temporary chemical treatment that helps to rearrange the bond of hair and convert hairs into curled hairs. This process results in making different types of curls, either loose or tight.
No matter how our hair type looks, we should be proud of it. It is the crown of our head that should never come off.
