Premise
“In the prequel series, the Targaryen dynasty is at its strongest with 17 dragons under their command. After reaching such heights, most empires fail. When King Viserys Targaryen defies a century of tradition by naming his daughter Rhaenyra as the Iron Throne’s heir, the Targaryens’ downfall begins nearly 193 years before the events of Game of Thrones. The court is surprised, however, when Rhaenyra retains her status as his heir after Viserys bears a boy, and discord spreads throughout the realm as a result.”
