Delhi government allows farmers protest at Jantar Mantar from 22 July to 9 August

The Delhi government has permitted the farmers to protest at Jantar Mantar. They have also issued a formal order for the protest. From 22 July to 9 August, from 11:00 am onwards to 5:00 pm, the maximum number of 200 protesting farmers of the United Kisan Morcha has been permitted to protest.

Controversy with the police on the question of counting the farmers being brought to Jantar Mantar, the farmers were taken off the bus and taken to the resorts.

Parliament has several layers of security all around because the police are apprehensive that anything can happen today. The farmers have left the Singhu border in buses and will reach Jantar Mantar in a short time, for which there is a tremendous preparation of the police.

Many layers were barricaded at Jantar Mantar. Along with the police, paramilitary force personnel are also on alert mode. Farmers’ Parliament will run at Jantar Mantar from today.

The Delhi government amended the guidelines and gave permission, and said that Corona rules will have to be followed during the attendance confirmation. At present, the Disaster Management Act is in force in Delhi, due to which no gathering can take place under the guidelines of DDMA. But for the farmers’ movement.

In the midst of the Monsoon Session of Parliament, the way has been cleared for farmers to come to Jantar Mantar. According to Delhi Police sources, around 200 farmers will come to Jantar Mantar by bus tomorrow and will hold a peaceful protest. The farmers’ bus will reach there only under police surveillance.

Because of the crowd and farmers’ agitation, elaborate security arrangements are being made at Jantar Mantar. However, the Delhi Police has not officially said anything about the permission for the demonstration so far.

The Samyukta Kisan Morcha (SKM), a joint body of over 40 farmer unions spearheading the movement against central agricultural laws, had planned that from July 22, every day around 200 farmers would protest outside Parliament during the monsoon session. The monsoon session of Parliament began on Monday and will end on August 13.

They will be seated peacefully at Jantar Mantar. Security arrangements are already being made at Jantar Mantar. For security, 5-5 companies of Delhi Police and paramilitary forces will be located. After checking the ID cards of all the farmers, they will be allowed to enter. The farmers will return at five o’clock in the evening.

Both the United Kisan Morcha and the Delhi Police have two challenges, the first being how to keep the entire event peaceful as the Delhi Police allowed the Kisan March on 26 January where things got out of hand. The second challenge will be how to keep the farmers under control if they reach the Parliament House.
