The fast starts at dawn. Fasting ladies don’t eat during the day. Hindu wives perform different kinds of rituals along with Vrat (quick) on Karwa Chauth for their husband’s long life.
In traditional observances of the quick, the fasting lady as a rule does no housework. Ladies apply henna and other beauty care products to themselves and each other. The day passes in assembly companions and relatives. In a few districts, it is standard to grant and trade painted clay pots filled with put bangles, strips, hand-crafted sweets, makeup, and little cloth items.
In the evening, a community women-only ceremony is held. Members dress in fine clothing and wear adornments and henna, and (in a few districts) dress within the total delicacy of their wedding dresses.
