Director: Anubhuti Kashyap
Rating: Three and a half stars (out of 5)
Cast: Ayushmann Khurrana, Shefali Shah, Rakul Preet Singh, Sheeba Chaddha, and Abhinay Raj Singh
Ayushmann Khurrana’s Doctor G has taken a decent start at the box office. The movie has collected in the range of Rs 3.25 to 3.75 crore. The beginning has come across as a pleasant surprise as the industry expectation from the social comedy was floating within the extent of Rs 2.25 to 2.75 crore. The opening of Doctor G is better than Ayushmann Khurrana’s last two releases, Chandigarh Kare Aashiqui and Anek.
DOCTOR G – TRAILER
Doctor G centers around Dr. Uday Gupta, an aspiring gynecologist, who closes up being the only male doctor in a course full of ladies. The trailer depicts how the protagonist struggles to get comfortable with the thought of being a gynecologist and constantly tries to lose his ‘male touch‘ to become one.
The Uday and Fatima affair, for one, does not play out along the expected lines. Not cast in the shape of the usual Hindi movie sentiment, it wends its way through a momentary (and one-off) high followed by complexities that push the relationship in a shocking heading.
Ayushmann Khurrana delivers a shining performance that’s marked by restraint but he never lets the spotlight drift away from him. Not a simple feat gave the truth that the cast includes Shefali Shah and Sheeba Chaddha, both of whom are consummately pitch-perfect. Rakul Preet Singh, playing a lady who is more than just the hero’s love interest, is no less convincing.
Doctor G Box Office Review: Final Verdict
Doctor G has its confinements to work at ticket windows and numerous will prefer to observe it on little screens when it premieres on OTT. In any case, the film has a space as there’s no major competition from Bollywood until Ram Setu and Thank God releases on 25th October.
