Ekta Kapoor, mom Shobha receives arrest warrant for web series ‘XXX’

Ekta Kapoor’s web series XXX (Season-2) circulated on ALTBalaji, an OTT platform owned by Ekta Kapoor’s Balaji Telefilms Ltd. Shobha Kapoor is additionally related to Balaji Telefilms.

New Delhi: The Supreme Court today came down intensely on producer Ekta Kapoor over “questionable  substance”  in her web series ‘XXX’, saying she was polluting the minds of the youthful era of this country.

The top court was hearing a plea recorded by Ekta Kapoor challenging the arrest warrants issued against her for allegedly insulting soldiers and harming the emotions of their families within the web series aired on her OTT stage ALTBalaji“.Something must be done. You’re polluting the minds of the youthful era of this country. It is available to all. OTT (Over The Beat) content is available to all. What kind of choice are you providing to the people?

The court made the observation after senior advocate Mukul Rohatgi, appearing for Ekta Kapoor, submitted that a petition has been recorded before the Patna high court but there’s no trust the matter will be recorded for hearing soon.

Mr. Rohatgi said the content is subscription-based and that there is freedom of choice in this country.

The top court kept the matter pending and recommended a local lawyer may be put to work to know approximately the status of the hearing within the high court. A trial court in Bihar’s Begusarai had issued the warrant on a complaint held up by Shambhu Kumar, an ex-serviceman.

Mr. Kumar, in his complaint of 2020, alleged series ‘XXX’ (Season-2) featured a few shocking scenes related to a soldier’s wife.
