FYI black fungus is a serious but infection cause due to another killing fungus called Mucor which exist in the environment, or might found on wet the surface. It is then spread to the eyes, lungs and attack the brain also. It causes blackening or discoloration over the nose, you see blur through eyes, chest pain, and have a problem in a breath. Before COVID -19, black fungus was  extremely rare and only detected in patients with weakened immune systems. How the covid -19 virus reduces the immunity level and mostly affects diabetes people.

How is black fungus is prevented and treated?

To prevent the disease, blood glucose levels should be controlled before COVID -19 discharge and also in diabetes patients. Installing peripherally inserted central catheter, keeping enough systemic hydration, infusion of normal saline before Amphotericin B infusion, and anti-fungus therapy for at least six weeks are all medical treatments for black fungus, in addition to examining the patient clinically and observing the symptoms of this disease. To keep away from the this disease, we should do exercise and take a proper diet to keep the disease away.
